Case 1: IP54 Junction Box Waterproof and Dustproof Testing

Testing Standard: IEC 60529:1989+A1:1999+A2:2013

The IP54 certification requires protection against dust and water spray from any direction. Our design and manufacturing process ensures complete compliance with these requirements.

IP54 Waterproof Test
The second characteristic number 4 indicates the waterproofing test
1. Spray nozzle: 180°
2. Water pressure: 0.07 V/min ±5%, multiplied by number of holes 10 U/min ±5%
3. Minimum test duration: 10min.
IP54 Dustproof Test
The First characteristic number 5 indicates prevent solid foreign objects test
1. Test duration: 8h
2. Equipment pressure: <2kPa

Design Considerations

IP54 Box Design with Single Screw
The entire box has only one central locking screw. Our approach is to design a waterproof groove with a sealing strip. The single central screw is designed to accommodate the PCB dimensions, ensuring an aesthetic appearance. The box design is constrained by the PCBA layout.

IP68 Box Design with Four Screws
This is an IP68 box with the same waterproof groove design as in the first image. The difference is that this box has four locking screws on all four sides, providing greater fastening force than a single screw.
